Yong-Qing Zhao

Ph.D., Associate Professor


Yong-Qing Zhao received his B.S. degree from Lanzhou University in 2004. He then joined Prof. Hu-Lin Li’s group at Lanzhou University as a graduate student and performed research in the field of biodegradable polymer composites (such as biofiber enhanced polylactic acid composites). From 1/2007 to 10/2008, he worked as research assistant in the Prof. Kin-Tak Lau’s group at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2009, and then became a lecturer of chemistry at Lanzhou University. He was promoted to an associate professor in 2016. His current research interests include the development and application of carbon materials and their composites (such as biomass derived carbon, graphyne, graphene, and manganese dioxide) in the field of electrochemical energy conversion and storage (especially supercapacitors).
