Yong Huang
Ph.D., Associate Professor
Introduction
Yong Huang received a B.S. degree from Lanzhou University in 1996. He then joined Prof. RuDong Yang’s group at the Department of Chemistry, Lanzhou University as a graduate student and performed research in the field of macrocyclic chemistry of rare-earth complex. He got his M.S. degree in the year of 1999. He thereafter became an assistant of chemistry at Lanzhou University. In 2001, he joined Prof. RuDong Yang’s group at the Department of Chemistry to pursue a Ph.D. degree, developing the fluorescence properties of rare earth complexes and the design of new fluorescence materials. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2005. From 12/2006 to 07/2008 he joined Prof. Chu-Chieh Lin’s group at the Department of Chemistry, National Chung-Hsing University in Taiwan as a postdoctor and performed research in the field of ring-opening polymerization of lactides catalyzed by metal complexes. In 2011, he worked as a visiting-scholar in Prof. Philip Mountford’s group at the Department of Chemistry, the University of Oxford in UK and performed research in the field of ring-opening polymerization of lactide catalyzed by group 3 metal complexes. Since 2009 he became an associate professor of chemistry at Lanzhou University. His current research interests include coordination chemistry, rare-earth chemistry, and the synthesis of biodegradable polyester.
