Yu Tang

Ph.D., Professor


Yu Tang received a B.S. degree from Lanzhou University in 1993. She then joined Prof. Xinmin Gan’s group at the Department of Chemistry, Lanzhou University as a graduate student and performed research in the field of rare-earth functional complexes. She got her M.S. degree in the year of 1996. She was thereafter recommended to pursue a Ph.D. degree in Prof. Minyu Tan’s group at College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University, developing novel rare-earth functional complexes. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in June, 1999 and became a lecturer of chemistry at Lanzhou University in July. She was promoted to an associate professor in 2001 and a full professorship in 2007. Now she is Feitian scholar distinguished professor of Gansu Province. Her current research interests include novel luminescent materials based on rare-earth complexes and their applications in the optical storage, smart bio-probes, and solar cell devices.
