Weisheng Liu

Professor

Introduction

Weisheng Liu received a B.S. degree from Shandong University in 1982, and  then became a faculty member of chemistry at Lanzhou University. He obtained his Ph.D degree from Lanzhou University in 1996. In 1996 and 1998, he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Hong Kong. From 2001 to 2002, he went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a senior visiting scholar. He was promoted to a full professorship in 1996. His current research interests include rare earth new luminescent materials, functional complexes and fluorescent probes. More than 200 papers have been published in J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater, Appl. Phys. Lett. and other journals. He won the first prize for Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Gansu Province (2004) and the first prize for Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education (2011).
