Xin-Gang Xie

Ph.D., Professor


Dr. Xin-Gang Xie was born and raised in Yuncheng city, Shanxi province of P. R. China. After obtaining a bachelor degree of chemistry at Lanzhou University in 2001, he began his graduate study at the same university under the supervision of Prof. Xin-Fu Pan and Xue-Gong She and got his PHD degree in 2006. Then he joined the research group of Prof. Henry N. C. Wong in Chinese University of Hong Kong as a postdoctoral associate and worked towards the total synthesis of plakortone B. In 2010, he returned to Lanzhou University and joined the State Key Laboratory of Applied Chemistry as a lecturer and promoted to associate professor in 2012. Dr. Xin-Gang Xie’s group is currently interested in the development of green and sustainable organic synthetic methodology, total synthesis of bioactive natural products and structure-activity-relationship (SAR) study.
