Liang Yongmin gave a welcoming speech and pointed out that, as one of the first Double-First Class universities, Lanzhou University was a university rooted in northwestern China and keeping in line with the times. He wished that, through the Camp, students could have a better understanding of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of LZU, and make LZU their first choice for future study and work. Professor Tang Yu briefly introduced the College from perspectives of the development history, talent training, discipline advantage and teaching staff. Professor She Xuegong introduced the situation of the College and State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry. Professor Zhang Haoli put forward his sincere hope for the personal development of all members of the Camp and made a detailed introduction about the postgraduate enrollment policy of LZU.

At the three-day camp, students visited the History Museum of College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Analysis and Testing Center, No.1 Chemistry Building and No.2 Chemistry Building, which enabled them to have a better understanding of the excellent tradition and abundant strength of Chemistry discipline in LZU. Through listening to academic reports given by LZU Cuiying specially-appointed professors, excellent young researching fellow Yang Ming, Dong Shihui, Hu Anhua and Chen Xiaoming, the students deeply felt the profound academic background of LZU. By participating in the discipline introduction meeting and supervisor-student meeting, visiting the supervisor’s laboratory and experiencing standardized scientific research training, they had deepened their understanding of every discipline and supervisor’s research group. The interview of the Camp made them reflect on their professional knowledge, ability of creative thinking and potential of scientific research. And the tour to places of interest in Lanzhou Municipality, such as Waterwheel Expo Park, Zhongshan Bridge and Statue of Mother Yellow River, brought them a glimpse of the charm of Yellow River.
