Doctor Wu Lizhu is a researcher and doctoral supervisor. She graduated from the Department of Chemistry of Lanzhou University in 1990 and graduated from the Institute of Photographic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995, with a doctor’s degree, supervised by academician Tong Zhenhe. From 1997 to 1998, she studied as postdoctoral fellow in Department of Chemistry of University of Hong Kong, with academician Zhi Zhiming her co-advisor. After graduation, she engaged in photochemical conversion research at the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry CAS. Currently, she is the director of the Supermolecular Photochemistry Research Center of the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry CAS and a member of the Scientific and Technological Commission.

Major research field:

1.Study on the photochemical conversion of solar energy: especially on the use of solar photocatalysis for hydrogen production, oxygen production and carbon dioxide reduction;

2.Study on photochemical synthesis and technology: to develop new strategies for efficient, highly selectiveand environmentally friendly photochemical synthesis by making use of the clean, resource-conserving and energy-saving photochemical reaction and technology of fine chemicals;

3.Study on important photophysical and photochemical processes: utilizing the technology of steadystate and time resolution to study the basic chemical and physical process involved in excited statesthe mechanism, efficiency and dynamics of photoinduced electron transfer, energy transfer, radiative transition, non-radiative transition and chemical conversion, so as to provide the basis for achieving efficient photochemical conversions.

In 2001,supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Distinguished Young Scholars, her project was awarded as excellent project and received follow-up support from the Chinese Academy of Sciences “Hundred Talents Program” (2006). In 2005, she won National Natural Science Award (second class) as the second person-in-charge. She won the 10th Young Science & Technology Award of China in 2007, the 3rd “ Top 10 Outstanding Female of Chinese Academy of Sciences”  in 2009, the “7th Young Female Scientist Award of China” in 2010, “Zhu Liyuehua Outstanding Teacher Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences” in 2011, the “Chinese Chemical Society - Physical Organic Chemistry Award” in 2013, the “3rd Chinese Chemical Society - Chemical Innovation Award” in 2016 and the “Excellent Supervisor Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences” in 2017. Also, she was elected as one of the leading personnel of the second batch of “Talents Projects” in 2016 and member of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2017.

Zhang Jin, male, received a bachelor's degree in radiochemistry from the Department of Modern Physics, Lanzhou University, in 1992. In 1995, he obtained a master's degree in applied chemistry from the Department of Modern Physics, Lanzhou University. In 1998, he obtained a doctoral degree in analytical chemistry from the Department of Chemistry of Lanzhou University. From 1998 to 2000, he pursuedhis post-doctoral degree at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Leeds, in UK. Currently, he is a professor of Peking University, doctoral supervisor, winner of National Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education, member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and young and middle-aged leading talent in scientific and technological innovation of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

rried out research work in the field of physical chemistry of nano-carbon materials for a long time, insisted on exploring thegrowth ruleof structural control of nano-carbon materials, such as carbon nanotubes, developed the method of spectrum characterization of the structure and physical property of nano-materials, and solved the hard problem concerning the structural control and efficient growth of carbon nano tube carbon through the design of catalysts, which promoted the development of fundamental research on nano-carbon materials in China.

At present, professor Zhang Jin has published more than 260 papers in Nature, Nat. Mater and other publications, with more than 12,450 times of citation and more than 30 patents authorized. Also, he was awarded two times of National Natural Science Awards (second class), National Outstanding Supervisor for Doctoral Dissertation, Young Chemistry Award of Chinese Chemical Society, "New Century Excellent Talent Funding Program" of the Ministry of Education and "Top Ten"Supervisor of Peking University
