A SpecializedTraining Session on Pressure Vessel SafetyHeld Successfully

On the occasion of the National Security Education Day, in order to implement the overall requirements of the Party Committee of Lanzhou University on "learning the history of the Communist Party of China(CPC for short), grasping the essence, doing practical work and opening up a new ground for the centenary of the founding of the CPC", as well as to strengthen the laboratory safety management of our college, the college specially invited Mr. Cheng Weiqiang, co-founder of Xi'an Taikang Biotechnology Co., Ltd., to conduct a special training session on pressure vessel safety in the lecture hall of Shaw Science Museum on April 28th. The laboratory safety staff and some graduate representatives of our collegeattended the training. Meanwhile, we also invited teachers and students from the Laboratory and Equipment Management Office and other colleges to attend the training.

The training session, presided over by Nie Jianyi, vice president of ourcollege, is divided into three parts: safety operation of pressure vessels, training of physical operation of reaction kettle and on-site interaction. Taking the high pressure reaction kettle as an example, Mr. Cheng Weiqiang focused on the basic safety knowledge that teachers and students should pay attention to in actual operation, such as safety matters, usage and steps, emergency handling plan, reactor cleaning and so on.Cheng also showed the participates the laboratory safety operation simulation video.

 

Then Cheng demonstrated the correct operation steps of the loading and unloading of the high pressure reaction kettle, emphasized the product standard requirements of parts of the high pressure reaction kettle, and answered the indication information of the relevant parts.

 

During the on-site interaction part, teachers and students communicated and discussed livelywith Cheng on the problems encountered in the actual use of autoclaves, hydrothermal cauldrons and high-temperature and high-pressure sterilizers.

 

President Nie finally stressed that it is hoped that teachers and students will establish the concept of safety development, adhere to the principle of life and safety first, raise safety awareness, standardize operational behavior, and be responsible for themselves and others.
