On May 17, the on-site inspection of university laboratory safety in 2021 organized by the Ministry of Education started. According to the deployment of the Laboratory and Equipment Management Office, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering took rapid actions to conduct a comprehensive self-examination and self-correction of the laboratory safety work of the college.

First of all, the inspection points are sorted out in accordance with the specific requirements of the "High SchoolLaboratory Safety Inspection Project List (2021)",and each laboratory is required to conduct self-inspection and rectification according to the points.Secondly, the college invested funds to purchase fire-fighting blankets and fire-fighting sand buckets to equip laboratories lacking these tools; made various safety signs and posted them where needed.Third, all laboratories were carried out carefully sort of self-examination.The college organized two rounds of comprehensive inspections. The inspection on May 24 was led by Party Secretary Zhang Haibo and Dean Liang Yongmin. Through the efforts of the teachers and students of the whole college, we has done all the preparations for the inspection.

On May 28th, a 6-member inspection team headed by Wang Qin, Dean of the College of General Aviation and Flight of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, came to Lanzhou University to start an on-site inspection of the College’s laboratory safety work.The inspection team randomly inspected 17 teaching and scientific research laboratories in the College of Chemistry, affirmed and encouraged some practices in the laboratory safety management of our College, and also pointed out the existing shortcomings and problems.

In the future, the college will carry out rectification work based on the problems reported by the inspection team to ensure that the safety work of the college’s laboratory can reach a higher level and provide better conditions for the college’s teaching and scientific research work.
