On May 30th, Lanzhou University’s "Ode to the Party" theme chorus competition was held in Wenxintang, Yuzhong campus. Teachers and students of our college sang the two tracks "Heavenly Road" and "When That Day Comes" together. They completed the singing in a passionate and generous state,and finally won the first prize with a high score of 9.800, presented a gift to the party with a beautiful singing voice.

The atmosphere at the singing competition was solemn and warm."The dragon crosses the mountains and ridges, and the snow-covered plateau is full of safety and happiness. It is the great party that leads China to rejuvenation.",In the song "Heavenly Road", affectionate and high-spirited melody intersect each other,expressing the love of the teachers and students of the College of Chemistry for the party and the country.Yang Zekun’s solo voice is clear and contagious, accompanied by the right perfect chorus, the reverberation surrounds Wen Xintang."There will also be upheaval in the peaceful era. If that day really comes, I will vow to march forward bravely", the melody of "When That Day Comes" sounded, and the vigorous singing sounded through the auditorium,expressing a fervent sense of national identityof the students and faculty.The elegant dress and the flashing lights complement each other, without complicated decorations, only moving singing, the stage is constantly climaxing, and the audience applauds again and again.

A successful performance is inseparable from the unity of the teachers and students of the whole college.Secretary Zhang Haibo and Dean Liang Yongmin took the lead in participating in the chorus. After busy teaching and research, the teachers used the evening to rehearse carefully, and rushed to Yuzhong to practice with the students on weekends and May Day holidays.The students were still writing the experiment report in the first second, and then devoted themselves to the training in the next second.Zhang Chongfeng, the instructor and part-time instructor of the "Petal Chorus" of the college, served as the conductor. He worked hard to lead the chorus training between Yuzhong and Chengguan campus. He strives for perfection, meticulous and rigorous, patiently guides and corrects every singing skill and every expression of teachers and studentsin each training.The staff of the Student Union cleaned the classroom, arranged clothes, put on makeup for the students, bought water, and did their best to ensure the chorus's logistics.

Jin Bo, the student of 2020-Grade, who participated in the chorus, said excitedly after the competition: "When we were singing the lyrics of ‘When That Day Really Comes’, I was surrounded by united and neat singing, which made me feel as if we were singing the battle song before the expedition. Facing the call of the party and the country, the students of the College of Chemical Engineering answered firmly, sonorously every word, and a sense of mission came into being.By participating in this event, I have a more real experience of the sense of mission of contemporary Chinese youth.I believe that the feeling of ‘If not me, then who? I will always be recalled’ in the song will always affect me. I must be loyal to the motherland and firmly contribute to the scientific cause of our country.”
