In order to further fully implement the spirit of the National Education Conference and the spirit of the work conference on the ideological and political construction of colleges and universities, implement the "Guidelines for the Ideological and Political Construction of Colleges and Universities", and deepen the ideological and political education and innovation reform of curriculum. On December 23, 2021, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering held a special lecture on the construction of "Course Ideology and Politics" and the 4th "Course Ideology and Politics" Demonstration Course Lecture Competition in 201 of the Second Chemistry Building. The lecture was presided over by Professor Hui Xinping, Deputy Dean of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

First of all, Professor Wang Yuzhi, member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Chemistry in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education, a famous teacher of the "Ten Thousand People Program", a famous teacher of ideological and political teaching of the Ministry of Education, and Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Hunan University, made a speech entitled "'Analytical Chemistry'" "Teaching and Curriculum Ideological and Political Teaching" special lecture, Mr. Wang systematically introduced the reform of analytical chemistry teaching in Hunan University and the in-depth exploration and achievements of the course team in "course ideology and politics" from the aspects of learning objectives, task requirements, learning methods, educational objectives and the development of MOOCs in Chinese universities, and introduced the method of excavating the ideological and political elements of the course and in-depth development of the ideological and political teaching of the course through specific cases. More than 20 teachers from the college participated in offline special lectures, and more than 100 teachers participated in online lectures. 

Subsequently, the 4th "Course Ideological and Political" Demonstration Course Lecture Competition of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering began. Eight teachers from the experimental course groups of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering and technology, applied chemistry and basic chemistry participated in the competition. Focusing on the fundamental task of foster character and civic virtue, participating teachers closely combined the characteristics of majors and courses, and deeply explored the ideological and political elements of professional courses. Famous scientists such as Yu Fuchun, Jiang Lei, and Tu Youyou, and Liu Youcheng, Liu Zhongli and other chemists of Lanzhou University bear the academic style of respecting science, the attitude of dedication and the fighting spirit of patriotism and dedication; the brilliant achievements our country has made in related fields in recent years and the demeanor of a great power embodied in it. The competition combines professional characteristics, organically integrates environmental protection, inspirational education, socialist core values education, patriotism education, a scientific attitude of seeking truth from facts and a tenacious scientific spirit into classroom teaching, give full play to the role of the "main force" of professional course teachers, the "main battlefield" of professional course teaching, and the "main channel" of professional course classrooms, Focus on cultivating students' professional quality, family and country feelings, humanistic feelings and world-mindedness, so that professional courses and ideological and political courses go in the same direction, and realize all-round education for all staff.

After more than 3 hours of lecture competition and strict evaluation, Wang Wei won the first prize, Dong Chunxu and Zhang Qiaolan won the second prize, and Chen Yonglei, Guo Lirong, Lan Jingfeng, Li Fengyun and Shi Yun won the third prize. The judges of the competition are Professor Zeng Zhengzhi, member of the Education and Teaching Development Advisory Committee of Lanzhou University, Professor Hui Xinping and Professor Zhang Haixia, famous teaching teachers in Gansu Province, and Jia Jing, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college.Zhang Haibo, secretary of the party committee of the college, watched the game as an audience.
