In order to further help students with scholastic difficulties to clarify their learning goals and stimulate their endogenous motivation, on April 22, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering held a symposium on academic assistance. Dean Professor Liang Yongmin held a symposium with relevant students.

Dean Liang affirmed the students' ability to successfully enter high-level colleges and universities through the college entrance examination, and also pointed out the difficulties faced by everyone in their studies -the professional courses are difficult and the graduation requirements are strict, etc. the difficulty of professional courses and strict graduation requirements. He said that most students with scholastic difficulties are addicted to their phones, lose motivation and lack of goals on a daily basis. Students should learn to restrain the desire to be lazy and change the state of procrastination. On the basis of learning professional courses well, they should actively participate in campus activities, scientific research and social practice, so as to improve their organizational communication skills. The improvement of good organizational and communication ability is based on the improvement of comprehensive quality, and the improvement of comprehensive quality requires continuous learning. 

In the free communication session, students asked questions about the institutions, tutors, and research directions for the postgraduate entrance examination. Dean Liang gave detailed answers in terms of preparation for professional courses and participation in summer camps. He answered the students' questions about the direction of the secondary discipline of chemistry, and extended the possible employment directions in different fields with specific cases. "How to choose between work and postgraduate entrance examination?" Regarding this question that many students are confused about, the dean said that only by careful planning, thinking in advance, and gradually cultivating the corresponding ability will we be more confident when faced with different choices. Therefore, for the future life development after graduation, the dean reminds everyone to set goals, consider in advance, and make choices that suit them based on their own areas of interest and their actual personal circumstances. 

Dean Liang shared the learning methods of chemistry majors with the students. He pointed out that the social environment and science and technology are developing rapidly, only in this way can we not be eliminated by the tide of the times.   

At the end of the symposium, Dean Liang encouraged the students to strengthen their confidence, overcome difficulties, and prove themselves with practical actions.
