In order to build a communication platform between students from different colleges and universities, enhance the understanding of college students from other colleges and universities on the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University, publicize the admission policy of graduate students of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University, and attract more outstanding students to study at Lanzhou University, from July 17th to 20th, 2022, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Lanzhou University, in conjunction with the National Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecular Chemistry, held the 2022 National Excellent College Students Chemistry Summer Camp. 

Affected by the epidemic, this summer camp is an online event. 44 students from more than 20 universities including Northwest A&F University, Zhengzhou University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China University of Petroleum, Shaanxi Normal University, Hefei University of Technology, and Ningxia University participated in this activity. 

 On the morning of July 18, the camp opening ceremony was held in the form of an online live broadcast on the platform of the DingTalk conference. Professor Wang Wei, director of the National Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecular Chemistry and doctoral tutor, Professor She Xuegong, deputy director and doctoral tutor of the National Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecular Chemistry, and all leaders of the College of Chemical Chemistry attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jia Jing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University. 

Professor Tang Yu introduced the college and discipline characteristics of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the aspects of the development history of the college, the effectiveness of talent training, the advantages of discipline development, and the composition of the teaching staff. Professor Xuegong She introduced the basic situation of the National Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecular Chemistry. Afterwards, the campers visited various instruments and equipment platforms of the Analysis and Testing Center online. 

During the three-day activity, the campers felt the excellent historical heritage, strong academic atmosphere, rigorous scientific research style, and strong school-running strength of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University through exchanges and interactions in the laboratory, introduction of secondary disciplines, mentor meetings, academic reports, and interviews. At the same time, it has enhanced the understanding of disciplines and tutors, strengthened the reserve of professional knowledge, and opened up scientific research innovation ideas. 

At the closing ceremony on July 20, the campers said that in just a few days, they felt the rigorous academic attitude, broad and inclusive mind of Lanzhou University chemists, and their desire for outstanding young students. They all hope to have the opportunity to join the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University and the State Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecular Chemistry for further study. At present, most of the outstanding campers have signed a letter of intent for postgraduate exemption with their tutors according to their own interests and aspirations.
