The scene of the meeting

On December 30, 2023, the Seventh Academic Committee Meeting of the National Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecules Chemistry at Lanzhou University was held at the Chengguan Campus. Attending the meeting were academicians including Cheng Jinpei, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology and professor at Tsinghua University; Tong Zhenhe, researcher at the Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Yan Chunhua, President of Lanzhou University; Ding Kuiling, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Tu Yongqiang, professor at Lanzhou University and Vice Chairman of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecules Chemistry; Yue Jianmin, researcher at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Liu Maili, researcher at the Academy of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wang Meixiang, professor at Tsinghua University; Zhou Xiang, professor at Wuhan University; and Professor Yang Zhen from Peking University, among others. Professors Wu Yundong from Peking University and Peng Xiaojun from Dalian University of Technology participated in the meeting online. The meeting was chaired by Professor Chen Ximeng, Vice President of Lanzhou University, and Academician Ding Kuiling, Director of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory.

Yan Chunhua is delivering a speech

Yan Chunhua, on behalf of the university, extends a warm welcome to the guests and expresses gratitude to all the experts and scholars for their long-term care and strong support for the development of the National Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecules Chemistry. He emphasizes that the laboratory should live up to expectations, strive for self-reliance, continue to develop, return to its origins, carefully review the reorganization and layout ideas of the laboratory, and ensure the implementation and solidification of relevant work.

Professor Wang Wei, the director of the laboratory, reported on the work of the laboratory over the past year from various aspects including strategic positioning, goal tasks, scientific research, talent team, and platform construction. He particularly emphasized the progress made in organizing scientific research focusing on natural product chemistry. Professor Dong Shihui, Associate Professor Zhang Xiaoming, Research Associate Chen Xiaoming, and Professor Liu Zitong respectively reported on the latest developments of their research groups within the National Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecules Chemistry.
