The 19th National Academic Conference on Spectroscopy, the 6th Cross-straits Academic Seminar on NMR and the 2016 International (Lanzhou) Solid-state NMR Technology Seminar were held in Lanzhou University (LZU) from August 17 to 20, 2016. These conferences were hosted jointly by the Spectroscopy Committee of Chinese Physical Society and the State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry (SKLAOC). More than 390 representatives from regions such as mainland of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, America, France, Canada and Russia attended this event. Professor Baotian Pan, vice-president of LZU, gave the opening speech.

The 19th National Academic Conference on Spectroscopy included 6 lectures given by invited experts, 3 meetings for Application for Wangtianjuan Spectroscopy Prize, 5 report meetings for discussing the development of new technologies and 63 parallel meetings. Nearly 140 wall newspapers were put up. The conference, fully demonstrating China’s latest development in the research of NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance), involves the theories, methods and technologies in the fields of NMR, electron paramagnetic resonance, NMR imaging, etc. and the new achievements and applications in fields like physics, chemicals, material science, biology and medicine.

27 Cross-straits experts were invited to the 6th Cross-straits Academic Seminar on NMR and 14 academic repots were conducted. In this seminar, the latest ideas and developments in Cross-straits NMR were thoroughly discussed, laying a solid foundation for the further academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation.

Over 10 world-famous experts were invited to the 2016 International (Lanzhou) Solid-state NMR Technology Seminar and they gave 10 specially invited lectures. The representatives present made a deep discussion about the latest achievements and development trend of NMR in the fields like heterogeneous catalytic reaction research, hyperpolarizing technology, solid material characteristics and biomedical applications, and conducted a detailed consultation around the future research cooperation in solid-state NMR.

The conferences above not only showed the latest achievements and developments in NMR, but also provided a cutting-edge and international academic exchange platform for the massive number of experts, scholars, researchers and corporates specializing in the research and application of this field.
