In order to effectively enhance the fire safety awareness and self-rescue capabilities of students and faculty, in accordance with the notice issued by the Office of the Ministry of Education and the Office of the National Fire Rescue Bureau on conducting joint spring school fire evacuation drills, as well as the school's notice on conducting spring fire evacuation drills, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, in collaboration with the Security Department, the College of Life Sciences, and the College of Ecology, organized a series of activities including fire safety lectures, evacuation drills, and fire extinguishing exercises on March 25th. Faculty members from the college, all laboratory safety officers, as well as staff from the College of Life Sciences, the College of Ecology, and the Security Department participated in this event. At 3:00 PM in the afternoon, Senior Fire Instructor Wei Dong from the Political Security Fire Department demonstrated the significant hazards of fires through fire incident cases and provided detailed explanations of prevention and self-rescue methods. Additionally, Instructor Wei Dong demonstrated the proper usage of water-based fire extinguishers for everyone.

After the lecture, under the guidance of Instructor Wei Dong and staff from the School Security Department, the college organized an evacuation drill in the Second Chemistry Building. Some students from the College of Life Sciences and the College of Ecology also participated in this activity. When the smoke bombs were ignited, alarms sounded simultaneously inside and outside the building. Following the requirements of the evacuation drill, faculty and students in the laboratories covered their mouths and noses, bent over to feel the walls, and evacuated to the designated safe areas in an orderly manner.

Finally, Instructor Wei Dong provided on-site personnel with instructions on the correct usage methods, emphasizing the characteristics and key points of attention when using carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. Under Instructor Wei's guidance, faculty and students present participated in fire extinguishing exercises using dry powder fire extinguishers.

The fire drill activity was jointly organized by the Security Department, the College of Life Sciences, the College of Ecology, and the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Its aim was to further enhance the fire safety awareness of faculty and students, learn about fire safety knowledge, familiarize themselves with evacuation routes, master evacuation skills, and acquire the ability to use fire-fighting equipment. This activity aimed to contribute to the construction of a "safe campus" by providing an additional layer of protection.
