In order to implement the spirit of the meeting on fire prevention and control of the Ministry of Public Security and the Fire Bureau, further promote the publicity of fire safety and the construction of the "Four Capabilities" of fire safety in the College, popularize the basic knowledge of fire protection to the teachers and students of the College, and improve their awareness of fire prevention, eliminate the hidden danger of fire, as well as build a harmonious and safe campus, Security Department of Lanzhou University and College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering jointly held a series of activities such as fire safety knowledge lectures, evacuation escape and fire fighting drills, which were attended by some teachers of the college, all the security staff of the laboratory and relevant staff of the security department.

At 15: 00:00, Instructor Yang Xiaodong of Zhengan Fire Control showed the danger of the fire through fire cases, and explained methods on fire preventionand self-rescue in detail. At the same time, combining with the fact that our college is equipped with carbon dioxide fire extinguisher, Instructor Zhang explained the use methods and precautions of this kind of fire extinguisher for students.

After the lecture, under the guidance of Instructor Yang and the staff of the school security office, the college organized an escape drill in the second chemical building. After the smoke flares were lit, the alarm sounded inside and outside the building. With the guidance of the evacuation personnel on each floor, teachers and students in the laboratory covered their mouths and noses, bent down and walked along  the wall in accordance with the requirements of the escape drill, and evacuated to the designated safe area in an orderly manner.

Finally, under the guidance of the on-site staff, some teachers and students of the college participated in the fire-fighting drill of dry powder fire extinguisher. Instructor Yang made technical comments after everyone completed the fire-fighting exercise. Yang also said that in the process of fire-fighting,participants could conscientiously put out the fire source in accordance with the fire-fighting steps and methods, which met the requirements of calmly responding to emergencies and extinguishing the fire quickly and effectively.

This fire safety activity was jointly organized by the SecurityDepartment of Lanzhou University and the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. And the purpose of this activity is to further improve the teachers and students' awareness of fire safety and operation skills, so as toprovide a protective umbrella for the joint construction of "safe campus".
