To establish a platform for communication among students from different universities, promote understanding of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Lanzhou University among students from other institutions, publicize the graduate enrollment policies of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Lanzhou University, and attract more outstanding students to pursue further studies at Lanzhou University, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Lanzhou University, in collaboration with the National Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecules Chemistry, organized the 2023 National Excellent College Students Chemistry Summer Camp from July 6th to July 9th.

This summer camp was held entirely as an offline event. A total of 36 students from over 17 universities, including Northwest A&F University, Inner Mongolia University, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Northwest Normal University, and more, participated in this event.

On the morning of July 7th, the opening ceremony was held at the Student Activity Center Auditorium. Dr. Yan Chunhua, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the President of Lanzhou University, delivered a keynote speech. President Yan emphasized various aspects of graduate student life, including maintaining physical and mental health, managing relationships with mentors and peers, balancing academic pursuits with personal relationships, cherishing the valuable learning opportunities, showing respect to elders and family, and preparing adequately for the future. He expressed his heartfelt hopes for the students' successful completion of their graduate studies.Professor Liu Xiang, the Dean of the College of Physics at Lanzhou University and a recipient of the National Distinguished Young Scholars Fund, also shared insights, and outstanding student representatives gave speeches during the ceremony.

After the opening ceremony, the campers visited the History Museum of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Lanzhou University, the National Key Laboratory of Function-Oriented Molecular Chemistry, and the Instrument and Equipment Platform of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

During the three-day event, the campers had interactive exchanges through activities such as laboratory tours, discipline introductions, meetings with mentors, academic lectures, and interviews. They experienced the excellent historical heritage, rich academic atmosphere, rigorous research style, and strong academic strength of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Lanzhou University. At the same time, they deepened their understanding of the disciplines and mentors, enhanced their knowledge reserves, and expanded their research and innovation ideas.

The summer camp of Lanzhou University's College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has built a strong reputation and extensive influence among major universities over the years. These programs have facilitated exchanges and learning opportunities for students from various universities. The successful organization of this summer camp event not only promoted our college's enrollment policies but also attracted a large number of outstanding students to study at Lanzhou University, contributing to the development of Lanzhou University's Double First-Class Initiative and the future development of the college.
